Doctor said that Green tea and Ginkgo could relieve the adverse effect of chemotherapy

The American cancer society recently published an article on its website, recommended that using astragalus, green tea, ginseng and ginkgo, it could slow down the adverse effect of treatment process for the cancer patients.

Astragalus contains lots of microelements which are necessary in human body, such as selenium, zinc, iron, copper, manganese, and etc. Selenium content is the highest of them and selenium is a strong oxidant that can effectively remove free radicals and could prevent hydrogen peroxide to damage the cells. It can selectively inhibit the growth of cancer cells without damaging normal cells.

Green tea can be effective in preventing gastric cancer and other gastrointestinal tumors, its anti-cancer effect is from antioxidant ingredients—polyphones. Research has found that tea polyphones may promote cancer cell apoptosis, the higher the concentration of polyphone the more prompts apoptosis.

The effective component of Ginseng is ginsenoside, which could enhance the human body’s immunity to the rehabilitation of cancer patients. Recent studies have found that Rg3 of Ginsenosides could have the effective inhibition of tumor angiogenesis.

Regarding the study of ginkgo could anti-cancer is relatively seldom, but the glycosides which contained in ginkgo leaves, is a free radical scavenger, could repair cellular DNA damage and reduce the incidence of cancer.
